Jaden's Big Adventure

Please click the play button below in honor of Jaden today:

Jaden went to an ENT doctor today and with a brief flash of scissors, got his frenulum (that piece of skin underneath your tongue)snipped. He was diagnosed with ankyloglossia (tongue-tied) when he was born, and we had been weighing whether or not to get it clipped. We were worried that he would have to be sedated and worked on in an operating room, but he was a brave little guy and sat on his Daddy's lap while the doctor did the deed. He cried for about 10 seconds, and then stopped when his Mommy picked him up. The doctor gave him a sticker, which he promptly tried to eat, so his mouth must have felt alright. A little drool tinged in red, and he was good to go!

In case you want to know more about ankyloglossia, here is an expert presentation:

Breakfast with Aunt Cindee

Well, we had a great adventure over the weekend...we got to fly to Disneyland with Grandma and Grandpa Nelson and see everything. On Saturday morning we had breakfast at the Storyteller's Cafe and Cindee came up to eat with us! It was about an hour each way of driving, but we were sure excited to see her. The last time she held Jaden was when he was one week old, so they had some catching up to do. I wanted to post a few pictures of our breakfast with some woodland visitors today...a more comprehensive record of our trip will follow soon!
